How is my privacy protected

Mainly by minimising the amount of information you are required to provide in the first place.

What information must I provide?

Only your choice of username and an e-mail address at which you can be contacted.

Why do you need an e-mail address?

For two reasons:

  • in order to send you important service announcements, and
  • to provide a means to re-establish your identity in the event that you lose your password.

(If this bothers you then it is easy enough to create an e-mail address exclusively for use with this service, but it is important that you read mail sent to that address.)

Do you pass personal information to third parties?

Only as directed by you or required by law.

Do you keep logs?

Yes. Short-term logs are kept, mainly for the detection and prevention of technical faults and malicious activity.
